Merrimack Energy has completed a number of benchmarking studies to assess the cost of various resource options such as gas-fired combined cycle projects, combustion turbine projects, solar, wind and biomass projects, and energy storage options in relation to our work as Independent Evaluator or as part of the regulatory process assessing the reasonableness or proposed costs. For example, Merrimack Energy has conducted benchmark studies to compare the cost of resources bid into or selected through a competitive solicitation process or through a bilateral contract relative to market costs of competitive generation options to inform Commission decisions regarding project/contract costs.
